How did you begin training MMA? I got into it when I watched Cain Velasquez beat up Brock Lesnar and he was a lot smaller than him, and as a smaller guy it kinda made me think that if you learn the proper skills then size won’t matter as much. I stared wrestling and had great success and fell in love with the sport of wrestling, then knowing in the end I wanted to do MMA when I was done my wrestling career, now 10 years later that’s where I am.

Who or what inspires you? My family inspires me. They were refugees and came to Canada with nothing but a suitcase and me and my brother in their arms. They made a life for themselves back home in PEI. They worked hard for it and they taught me the value of hard work.

Would you rather win a fight by KO or submission in the first 10 seconds of your fight or the last 10 seconds? Probably KO in the first 10 seconds.

Where is one place you’ve never visited that you’d like to? Japan.

Striking or grappling? Wrestling.

Dogs or cats? Dogs.

What is your dream car? Audi R8.

Do you have a job outside of fighting, and if so, what? No I do not.

What do you do for fun when you’re not training to fight? Either listen to audio books, play video games, or watch fighting.

Who is your favourite author? I like James Clear, he wrote a book called Atomic Habits that I really like.
